Ronald S. Powell, MD

Ronald Powell, MD, received his medical degree from Indiana University, and went on to complete his residency and fellowship at The University of South Florida. Dr. Powell is double board certified in gastroenterology and internal medicine. 

Dr. Powell has been caring for The Gastroenterology Center’s patients since 1988, and has been listed in the “Best Doctors of America” since 1996. He treats a multitude of gastrointestinal disorders such as Crohn’s Disease, Ulcerative Colitis, abdominal pain, altered bowel function, liver diseases, GERD, Barrett’s Esophagus, and performs colorectal cancer screenings. He also has a keen interest in research protocols of the body’s enzymes. 

Dr. Powell states he chose the practice of Gastroenterology, “due to the satisfaction in helping people with different problems and afflictions feel better through diagnosis and treatment.”
